Musings from the Wine Cellar
In the far distance there was a faint collective giggling of spiders. Closer, an occasional drip fell from the cellar ceiling onto the stone floor, and above him, a velvet moth fluttered around the entrancing light bulb.
Duncan had come down here to retrieve a good bottle of vino to accompany Sunday's lunch, tomorrow, but he had become distracted and then enchanted by a far superior vintage. A better bottle, with a fancy label and a light dusting of patina.
"It's so lovely and peaceful down here", he mused " I should visit this part of the burrow much more often; it’s rather cosy."
The tipsy mouse kicked off his shoes and enjoyed the heady bouquet of liquid relaxation. There was nowhere else he needed to be for the moment, or indeed for a while, so he took another sip and sighed; life was good, blurry, but good.
Duncan and his collection of vintage wines are contained in a wooden light box. The light is battery operated and the switch is concealed under a removable champagne cork. The front side of the box has a sliding clear perspex window
