Cordial invitation

Now that was a long day!
Scoffers and knobby used the last of the black berries to make black berry cordial for the winter. 
Here Scoffers sits in the burrow listening to the last drips of the sticky juice dripping into a jug. His job was to do the treading of the berries because he has the biggest feet.
Knobby turned the press and filled bottles. He dinned on a black berry samich and has fizzled out, exhausted, under the table.
The job is done, the bottles full, the shelves are stocked and a good night's sleep is next on the list.
Scoffer's feet smell very sweet and will be purple until about November.
